ILST 2018 was a rousing success again this summer. Twelve students from Management, Engineering, and Arts & Sciences engaged in live consulting and immersive experiences from mid-May to mid June. This year we conducted projects with Lakin Tire East (West Haven, CT; Triple-Bottom-Line Integration & Regional Location Optimization) and a series of projects in the Mount Carmel Region (Photovoltaic and Wind Feasibility Studies, Greenhouse Project at the Mt. Carmel School District, Customer Survey of Local Farmers Market, and a Food Pantry Project). Participants were also immersed in learning how organizations enact on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (private firms, NGOs, & government agencies), complex global social and environmental problems, and healthy nutrition consumption. ILST was run by Dr. Neil Boyd, (Management & Organizations Department) and Dr. Peter Mark Jansson (Electrical & Computer Engineering Department).
