MGMT 216 Half Credit Virtual Internship Course, Summer 2020

posted on May 8, 2020

Instructor: Missy Gutkowski, Director of Experiential Programs Bucknell University Freeman College of Management

The purpose of the Virtual Internship Program course is to provide guidance and professional development for students who have obtained virtual internship experiences. In addition to completing the virtual internship, students will engage with Bucknell alumni, parents and professionals who are eager to provide insights and guidance to help shape students paths. Students will enhance their knowledge and skills by:

·         Exploring a particular industry or career path

·         Gathering information on an industry culture, norms, and expectations

·         Contributing to projects for an employer, industry or larger purpose

·         Networking with a potential employer and guest speakers

·         Working in a remote manner which offers flexibility and accommodates a student’s other responsibilities

The course grade includes several assignments, reflection journal entries, supervisor and self evaluations, a final poster and professionalism as a student and as an active participant in the course.

Below is a list of employers who are offering virtual internships to Bucknell students.  Students interested in this course should apply to the experiences through the BRIDGE.  Once an internship is obtained, students can request permission to join the course. Students are also welcome to request permission into the course if they have accepted another virtual internship.

This course is open to all class years and majors. Interested students should reach out to Missy Gutkowski at mmg019@bucknell.edu.
