Be the student intern on the faculty and staff committee who is planning a week-long summer camp connecting high school students from low socioeconomic, first-generation, and underrepresented backgrounds to the experience and resources needed to enroll and succeed in higher education by providing first-hand experiences with faculty, college student mentors, university campus resources, and industry professionals.
Bucknell University’s Freeman College of Management will host this business college experience where students will learn about business acumen, obtain a hands-on look at the college experience, meet and learn from professors, and make connections with business professionals.
Duties:
Benchmark similar program at other institutions
Share information on your Bucknell experience, for camp program integration
Create communications content for program marketing materials
Collaborate with offices across campus and community partners as the experience is built
Epitomize a creative mindset, finding ways to think outside the box for ideas
Be intrinsically motivated and able to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
Not required, but preferred, attend camp (tentatively for the first week of August 2021) as the student leader
Requirements:
Experience as a student at Freeman College of Management
Prior experience with social media, marketing, communications, and/or other applicable fields required (Specific competencies in Canva, Adobe Spark, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, photography, video creation, etc. highly preferred)
Competent understanding of branding and ability to demonstrate the branding of Bucknell University and the Freeman College of Management
Must know about the different opportunities and majors offered at the College and at Bucknell
Commit 5-8 hours per week of work
Must be taking classes on campus for the spring 2021 semester
Position open to the class of 2022, 2023, and 2024 Bucknell University students in the Freeman College of Management
Only those students who are learning on-campus are currently eligible for student employment. All student employees are required to follow the Covid-19 policies related to facemasks and social distancing in this position.
