The Management Merit Scholars Program at Bucknell University’s Freeman College of Management is a selective, merit-based initiative designed to enrich students’ educational, experiential, and professional growth. Each scholar receives significant support for tuition and experiential learning.
Key Highlights:
- Merit-Based Selection: Students are chosen based on academic and leadership potential. The admission office makes the selections.
- Tuition Support: Each scholar receives a scholarship, funded by Bucknell Admissions.
- Internship Funding: Up to $5,000 per student is available to cover expenses for a summer internship before their senior year, supported by the Puff Family Scholars Endowment. Exceptions allow for other approved off-campus experiential learning experiences.
- Mentorship Program: During an internship experience each student is paired with a mentor aligned with their professional aspirations. Mentorship focuses on developing National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) career readiness competencies, which include:
- Career and Self-Development
- Communication
- Critical Thinking
- Equity and Inclusion
- Leadership
- Professionalism
- Teamwork
- Technology
Cohort-Based Learning: Scholars participate in joint activities across their four years, starting with a Foundation Seminar in their first year. The program fosters community, emphasizes reflective learning, and giving back to the Bucknell community.
