Spring Break Analytics and Operations Trip to Seattle

Experiential Learning and the Analytics and Operations Department are hosting a spring break trip to Seattle for students who are interested in analytics, operations, and technology as career paths and areas of further exploration.  

Open to students from all three colleges, the experiential trip will include: site visits to employers like Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, and Salesforce, (visits still being confirmed) networking sessions with alumni, and cultural and entertainment visits to Seattle hot spots.

OPEN TO ALL MAJORS AND CLASS YEARS FROM ACROSS THE UNIVERSITY.

DATES: Sunday, March 12-Friday, March 17

COST:  $900.00 per student with financial aid available.

NEXT STEPS: Students will be notified of acceptance on a rolling basis and by January 27, 2023, if they are selected to participate in the experience. Confirmation of acceptance within 72 hours of email notification and payment is due within 7 after acceptance documents are completed.

Women’s Walk on Wall Street Trip Fall 2022

Experiential Learning in the Freeman College of Management and the Women in Finance student organization will offer this student experience on October 28-29, 2022.

Applications are read and accepted on a rolling basis. The final application deadline is Thursday, September 29. Space is limited, not all students who applied will be offered a seat on the trip.

Cost to students includes money for lunch on their own and other preferred purchases.  Transportation, accommodations, and most meals will be provided.

Students will spend a day and a 1/2 in NY, NY visiting with finance employers and networking with alumni.
Employer visit details will be shared as they are confirmed. 
An alumni networking reception is also planned, welcoming all Bucknell alumni, parents, and employers from all areas of financial services.

Fall Break Innovation Trip 2022–Applications due September 27

The application deadline is Tuesday, September 27, 2022, or until the trip fills.

OPEN TO ALL MAJORS AND CLASS YEARS (inside and outside Freeman College of Management).

TRIP DATES: Sunday, October 9, Monday, October 10, and Tuesday, October 11, 2022. (Classes are not in session on M or T due to Fall Break)

Spend your fall break in NYC!

Day 1: Participate in Business Etiquette Seminar & Dinner. This practical, hands-on, useful, and engaging learning experience will equip you with the tools and skills to dine with confidence, grace, and ease in a variety of business and social settings.

Day 2: Employer visits, attend the Ride and theatre production: The Piano Lesson.

Day 3: Employer visit, marketing plan case competition presentation.

In addition to the variety of experiences and exposure to innovations in organizations, participating students will be placed into groups to work on a marketing plan for a case competition. One member of each group will be required to attend a marketing plan competition prep session on Wed, Oct 5 at 11AM.

All attendees are required to attend one prep session. Two sessions will be offered: Sept 28, 12-12:30PM, and Oct 6, 10-10:30AM.

Students will be notified of acceptance on a rolling basis and by September 28 if they are selected to participate.

The cost is $25.00 per student with financial aid available.

Theme Park U Student Trip-Apply today!

Introducing a new opportunity for students from across the University!

Theme Park U Trip to Orlando, Florida over winter break 2022!

Experience behind-the-scenes tours, connect with theme park professionals, and visit Disney World and Universal for an amazing week-long trip!

Trip Dates: Wednesday, December 14-Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Bucknell students are invited to join students from Indiana University Southeast’s School of Business and University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management for this awesome experience centered around theme parks in Orlando, Florida, specifically Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios.

The experience will begin with a symposium at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management on December 14th.  The Rosen College has a longstanding relationship with the theme parks in Orlando. This event will lay the groundwork for the rest of the trip, as students will be primed for what to look for, questions to consider, etc. 

Students spend the remainder of the trip in Disney and Universal theme parks. Educational activities include behind-the-scenes tours of park operations, courses in Marketing, Leadership Strategies, Techniques of Teamwork, and Theme Park Design.

Cost and payment information: The student cost for the experience is $2,700, all-inclusive of meals, transportation, and accommodations. Payment must be made to Bucknell University Freeman College of Management in check form.  Payment can be made in one lump sum or in payments in this format:

$400 non-refundable deposit due by April 4

$500 second payment due by September 1

Final payment due October 3 (These payment timelines are specific for the Bucknell’s participating in Theme Park U, as a collaborating, but not hosting school.)

Employer visits include JPMorgan, Jefferies, and Houlihan Lokey, but this might change.

Open to all class years and majors from across the University.


Applications were open by Friday, Sept 10, and close by September 27 or until spots are filled.

All students are encouraged to apply for the trip which includes a theatre production, retail walk-through and design sprint experience, alumni networking, several meals, transportation, and two overnight accommodations in Times Square, NY, NY. Join Professor Collin Smith and Assistant Dean Missy Gutkowski on this experience which is sure to provide you with insights into design thinking, the customer experience, and organizational innovations. 


The cost is $200 per student with financial aid available. The cost covers transportation, a theatre ticket, several meals, and accommodations at the Westin in Times Square.
